FS0963 Early 19th Century Hand Carved Folk Art Bird Walking Stick $175.
This charming and very collectable hand-carved walking stick will make a wonderful addition to your country home, a modern home too. I found this on during my last trip to back country in Lancaster Country Pennsylvania. I am told it is American and early 19th century. It has a wonderful folk art quality about it. The color and patina is perfect and only comes with age. Down at the very bottom, where the stick would hit the ground, there is a small piece that has broken away, probably from so much use. It's a very old break and I think only adds to the history and charm of this piece. The break measures 3/4 of an inch on one side. The photo I have provided was taken as a micro shot, so it looks much larger then it really is. To the top of the bird's head, this stick measures 32-1/2 inches. It's just a wonderful piece of Americana. $175. Includes shipping.
