FSPT1648 Primitive Hand Carved Butter Print Circa 1800 $120.
I love this butter print. I guess I love the naivety of it. Many times dairy farmers would carve their own design to put on their butter, getting it ready for market. This design would identify their farm. This wonderful butter stamp is all hand carved from one block of wood. You can feel in the back where it was hand planned. Can't you just imagine a farmer way back then, sitting on a stool, with knife in hand, carving his design. Imagine how happy he was when it was finished. If you love butter molds, this would make a wonderful addition to your collection, or just a nice one of a kind primitive piece to add to your primitive kitchen collectable. Great patina too! Measures about 6 inches long and 3-3/4 inches wide. $120. Includes shipping.
