Sharon Ascherl has been drawing and painting as far back as her memories take her. She grew up and still lives near one of America's most treasured waterways, The Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. Much of her inspiration stems from this land steeped in history. Her grandfather was farmer, jack of all trades, and Chesapeake Bay oysterman. Sharon's painting tell the story of those simpler times. Daily chores, family, church, community wove the rich tapestry of everyday life. Her work conveys memories sunshine life. Sharon is listed in the Early American Life Directory. Her painting Maryland Crabfest was picked for the AARP calendar. She was recognized as emerging artist of 2009 at the Garden Artfest in Maryland. We are proud to present this truly American art. This little box measures 7-3/4 inches long, 6 inches wide and 3-1/2 inches high. As you can see, it's beautifully hand-painted images of Napoleon and Josephine are just wonderful. This box is done in beautiful colors of creams, brown, soldier blue, green, and red. The box itself has a nice wright to it, and the wood is about 1/8 of an inch thick. This is a quality piece, at a wonderful price. It is signed by the artist. $125. Includes shipping.
